And just for thought...
She stares off into the distance with her ear plugs in,
looking as if she's a million miles away, paying no attention to the world.
A Don Henley song plays in the distance as the traffic goes steadily by.
Another end to a long day where acts of pointless deeds were done
but she dreams of greater things, bigger adventures, a better place.
The world keeps her in a box but was never made to fit.
Inside her, behind those eye her spirit dances, her spirit soars.
She quietly sits with her pen to paper, lost in her own tales.
A man sits across the way, tap-tap-tapping on his computer,
paying no attention to the quiet girl in the corner screaming in her head.
Silence is all he hears, just another girl at a coffee shop.
She comes often, never speaking, never acknowledging.
They both prepare for another day in this dreamless town.
Patrons come and go, coffee in hand, heading off to their designated families.
She smiles to herself, knowing one day she'll shine bright.
She knows she is made of stardust.
At the end of the day, I'm just a girl who has been in love with writing her entire life. I am full of quirks, anxieties, fears, joys, laughter. And all I have wanted to do was give the world a smile.
