And just for thought...
As a girl, I played my cards close to my chest.
Never let anyone see me too closely.
I hid in fear of failing expectations
Because I always knew I would.
I claimed my prizes when I could, walked away faster.
As a woman, I wear my heart on my sleeve,
Falling in love on a chance meeting,
Knowing perfectly well it will end.
I am now old enough to understand the risks
And fool enough to throw caution to the wind.
At the end of the day, I'm just a girl who has been in love with writing her entire life. I am full of quirks, anxieties, fears, joys, laughter. And all I have wanted to do was give the world a smile.
