And just for thought...
Walking down the sidewalk, where are you going?
You had come to tell me something wonderful, handing me a gift.
Simply sighing as you handed it to me and then you walked away.
I wanted to yell at you but my words wouldn't come and you were heading the other way.
So, I sat and you strolled but I thought there was more,
something else we had to give each other but really there was nothing left to say.
It was never the sound of our voices that brought us together
but a light touch, a sweet look, a subtle nod.
I would dream of a more substantial relationship with you
but that was probably just another trick of your charm
because every time you spoke all I could do was get lost in your lips.
You can't deny that it was never my eyes you were staring into.
Not that either of us minded or cared we heard nothing the other one said.
I suppose one of us was bound to walk away eventually.
I just would have preferred it to be me.
At the end of the day, I'm just a girl who has been in love with writing her entire life. I am full of quirks, anxieties, fears, joys, laughter. And all I have wanted to do was give the world a smile.
