And just for thought...
You stood, ready to take on whatever smartass comment I had.
My hands were on my hips, about to strike,
but I knew you wouldn't budge this time.
You took notes, knew every move I would make so I smiled and laughed.
I loved looking at you, the way your face was like stone and the confusion that crept in.
You thought I did not notice when you smirked.
I wrapped my arms around you as I whispered I had you all along.
Pulling me away, I saw you flare so I smothered you with a kiss.
I tasted the questions that sat on your lips.
I stepped back and told you to never change.
You took my face in your hands, so strong and skilled, sighing.
You did not know whether to walk away or hold on to me tighter, both futile.
Why do I play so many games? you asked.
I crooked my head, saying I like a man who could take the heat.
You stood right where you were.
And I smiled, finally a man who was as stubborn as I was.
At the end of the day, I'm just a girl who has been in love with writing her entire life. I am full of quirks, anxieties, fears, joys, laughter. And all I have wanted to do was give the world a smile.
