Whether I go this way or that, I pick my own ending.
I sat in the car with him, listening to a band from decades ago,
speaking of life in a manner he didn't realize I had in me and I saw the smile.
My age may be young but I am far wiser then he thought.
It is honor I live be even if I stretch my limits from time to time.
She said to me that once I reach her age I will think twice about enjoying my freedom as I do
and I wanted to laugh.
Whoever said life stopped as you grow older?

She claimed she lost her appetite for partying,
preferring to stay home inside her quiet walls.
I agreed, there was enjoyment in silence but there is nothing wrong with a little dancing.
I could jump on this breeze, ignite this flame or stay quietly in this chair.
The answers are all up to me.
I can still embrace life even if my skin wrinkles.
At the end of the day, I'm just a girl who has been in love with writing her entire life. I am full of quirks, anxieties, fears, joys, laughter. And all I have wanted to do was give the world a smile.
